A three-day capacity building training programme on 'Plant Protection Strategies in the current scenario of climate change' organised by Directorate of Extension Education, Central Agricultural University commenced from today at the CAU conference hall.
As chief guest of the training programme's inaugural session, CAU's Director of Research Dr M Rohinikumar Singh said that with the gradual change in the global climatic condition affecting the food chain it has become inevitable for mankind to protect the plants to support the growing human population.
Noting that climatic changes has led to many seasonal plant species needing slight change in the plantation period to adapt to the changing environment, he expressed confidence that the training programme would enable the farmers to learn the new growth trend from the subject experts.
Also attended by the CAU's Director of Instruction Dr SS Nagra and Director of Extension Education Dr M Premjit as the guests of honour, the technical session was addressed by various agricultural scientists.
