JE death toll rises in Assam

Jorhat (Assam), July 04 2013:
The death toll in encephalitis has gone up to nine in Jorhat district of Assam after a 65-year-old woman died today.
According to officials, Hunmai Saikia died of encephalitis after she was admitted at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
The eight other victims were from greater Na-Ali Dhekiajuli village in Titabor sub-division in Jorhat district.
According to an earlier report, the number of Japanese Encephphalitis cases in Assam was put at 28 with the highest number reported from
Sivasagar district.
