IED recovered from Moreh

Imphal, September 25 2018:
On 25 September 2018, a vigilant team of Moreh Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) prevented a major disaster in the Moreh town by recovering a 3 kg IED from area near Dalpatti ground.
At around 0500 hours on 25 September 2018, a specific input was received by the Moreh Battalion that an IED is planted by the insurgents in area near Dalpatti ground.
On confirmation of the input the team of Moreh Battalion took an immediate action and launched a search operation in general area Dalpatti ground.
The team found a abandoned black bag in the foliage covered track going from Dalpatti ground to Ward No 4.The vigilant team of Moreh battalion immediately cordoned off the area.
To ensure the safety of locals, 07 houses next to the IED site were vacated by the police.
The Bomb Disposal teams of Assam Rifles and Moreh Police reached the IED location.
The IED was disrupted and destroyed by BD teams at 1130 hours.
The bravado and vigilant act of Assam Rifles and Moreh Police protected the Moreh town from a major disaster and thwarted the nefarious designs of the insurgents to disrupted the peace in Moreh town.
