Imphal, March 21 2010:
The Two-day Festival of Reading with Interaction between Authors, Children and Youth on Children Literature which will go on till tomorrow opened today with a function held at Bal Bhavan, Khuman Lampak.
The inaugural function of the programme organised by the Writers' Forum Imphal in association with National Book Trust, India was graced by RK Jhalajit, Padmashree awardee as chief guest and it was presided over by Dr N Tombi, former president of the organising forum.
Eminent writers Amar Goswami, YD Thongchi and Manasranjan Mahapatra, editor of NBT attended the function as representatives of the NBT at the inaugural function which two books written by Meghachandra Heirangkhongjam, Barak-ta Leichin (short stories book) and Machu Ollaba Chingshang Pareng (book of poem) were released by the chief guest of the function.
Interactive sessions at Bal Bhavan (at 10 am) and at University (at 3 pm) will be held on the second day of the promramme, according to the organizers.
