Imphal, December 20 2012:
Following assurances given during a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam today evening, the JACs formed in connection with the killing of Maibam Bira and Boudiyang Panmei have agreed to take back the bodies and conduct the last rites, said a source.
The details of the assurance given are however not yet clear.
Maibam Bira (52) was killed in a grenade attack at the residence of Laishram Kheda at Kakwa Maibam Leikai yesterday evening while Boudiyang Panmei was shot dead by unidentified gunmen outside the venue of the Orange festival at Tamenglong district headquarters on December 18 evening.
