Second phase Census on in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, January 20, 2011:
The second phase Census 2011 kick started in Ukhrul District from today along with a training programme for the designated supervisors and enumerators at Ukhrul Higher secondary school here.
The Principal Census Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul inaugurated the four day training programme for Supervisors and Enumerators at Ukhrul Higher Secondary School and TTA Hall, Hamleikhong simultaneously.
All the trainees who are Government employees would be doing the field work of population enumeration on 29 parameters around 230 villages of Ukhrul district from February 8 to February 28, 2011.The reference date for the same is 00:00 hours (midnight) of 01-03-2011. The salient feature of census exercise this year is the inclusion of questions on various kinds of disabilities and occupational patterns.
The DC of Ukhrul N.Ashok Kumar, IAS, during the training session underlined the importance of the data collected from the census exercise and explained that these datas are essential for developmental planning and research purposes.
The DC also lauded the efforts of the Charge Officers/SDOs towards ensuring smooth conduct of training and field exercice and wished all the field staff the very best in their endeavour.
