Hindi Diwas celebrated

Hindi was declared as the official language of India on September 14, 1949 .
To commemorate this occasion, Hindi Diwas is celebrated on the day every year across the country.
To promote Hindi as the language of the masses, Assam Rifles has also undertaken numerous steps apart from observing the day every year, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
As a part of Hindi Diwas, 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) organised various functions on September 14 .
As part of celebration, Hindi debate competition, impromptu speech, essay competition and typing in Hindi were conducted under various categories and winners were felicitated, added the press release.
