Imphal, September 06, 2009:
District Veterinary Office, Ukhrul organised an awareness campaign on artificial insemination in cattle and poultry diseases at Siroy town hall yesterday.
Project Officer of Intensive Cattle Development Project, Porompat, Dr H Shantikumar encouraged about 60 farmers to adopt new techniques of cattle rearing.
While speaking in the first session of the programme, Joint Director of Ukhrul Veterinary Office, Dr K Tomba said that artificial insemination can give a boost to economic development in Siroy as the area has good population of cattle.
In the second session, District Veterinary Officer Dr Ng Luithui discussed in detail with the villagers about emerging livestock and poultry diseases.
