The Manipur Home Guard Employees Welfare Association today met Chief Minister N Biren at the Chief Minister's Secretariat and donated Rs 1,00,000 towards the CM Relief fund to help people who have been severely affected by the recent floods in the State .
Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed his gratitude to the Home Guards for their noble step which would help those people who are affected by natural calamities in the State .
It may be mentioned that thousands of people are displaced and hundreds of houses have been inundated by flood in various areas of the State .
The State Government has taken up various relief measures to control the situation and also declared the disaster as "State Calamity" on July 3 .
A 24×7 State Disaster Control Room (0385-2443441) has been set-up to monitor the situation and for timely coordinated action by district administrations and concerned departments.
