Imphal, April 30 2009:
A medical assistance camp for the disabled was conducted by troops of Red Shield Division at Mangolnganbi College, Ningthoukhong yesterday, informed a PIB (DW) release.
A total of 320 people turned up for the camp conducted by 4/8 Gorkha Rifles along with doctors of State Medical Board.
Out of these people, 108 patients having different disability problems were screened and registered for follow-up action like distribution of wheelchairs, tricycle crutches, hearing aid and artificial limbs on a case to case basis as part of Social Welfare Scheme of the State Government.
During the camp, medical aid was also provided by the army doctor for patients complaining of general ailments.
