Imphal, April 27 2016:
The first day of the ongoing indefinite bandh in
Yairipok area which has been imposed in con-
nection with the death of O Kunjamani has
affected the normal life.
The JAC constituted against the hit and
run case of O Kunjamani said that compen-
sation cannot bring back the life of
Kunjamani nor will deliver justice to the
victim and his family.
The JAC maintained that it would not
claim the deceased body unless the accused
auto driver is pulled up.
The JAC imposed the indefinite bandh
after Yairipok police failed to pull up the
accused within the stipulated period of time.
Shops and markets in Yairipok area re-
mained closed throughout the day and all
passenger carrying vehicles remained off the
roads.
Roads at Wangkhem Bazar, Yairipok
bridge and Yairipok Laimanai were also
blocked by bandh supporters.
