AR helps flood victims

Imphal, August 29 2015 :
The recent spate of heavy rains that resulted in the washing away of two bridges over Manipur River on August 1 and which cut off villages south of Singheu from other areas in Churachandpur district had brought immense hardship to the people.
In a statement, PRO HQ IGAR (S), 21 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) has been operating a boat across the river since August 12 .
The villagers have been using the boat to cross the river.
Meanwhile, 22 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) also organised an all community awareness meet at Sugnu on August 28 .
The meeting was attended by youth organisations, village chiefs, school principals and Municipal Councilors.
The meeting was organised for creating awareness among the youth regarding opportunities in the Army and Assam Rifles.
