Seized liquor destroyed

In yet another seizure of liquor along NH-2 by Kangpokpi Police during the drives conducted ahead of Lok Sabha election, 272 litres of country liquor have been confiscated today.
A team of Kangpokpi Police led by OC Minthang Kipgen seized a total of 272 litres of liquor from various passenger buses plying along NH-2 near Keithelmanbi lamkhai from different individuals.
According to the police, 64 litres of liquor was seized from one Sarangthem Ibema Devi (37), w/o S Thoiba Singh of Awang Sekmai; 27 litres from T Tombi Devi (55), w/o Th Tomba Singh of Sapormeina Meetei Leikai; 30 litres from Y Brojen Singh (35), s/o Y Khamba Singh of Awang Sekmai; 70 litres from Thongam Bishwarjit Singh of Awang Sekmai and another 81 litres from Saikhom Bobby Singh (25), s/o S Indra Singh of Awang Sekmai.
The seized liquor was destroyed in presence of local civil bodies, volunteers and officials of Kangpokpi Police at near IT Road Bazar.
