Chiru union for peaceful settlement of land disputes
The Chiru Union has appealed to Mao Council and Southern Angami Public Organisation to come to the negotiating table for settling the dispute over Dzukou and Kozurii in the true Christian spirit.
The union also appreciated the initiatives of the valley based civil society organisations, youth clubs and IMC ward members for supporting the Mao vendors in opening their stalls at Imphal.
Tml BJP congratulates Kamei
Bharatiya Janata Party Tamenglong Mandal on Friday congratulated Prof Gangmumei Kamei on his being appointed as a member of North Eastern Council (NEC).
The service of Gangmumei Kamei needs to be utilized for the nation particularly the Northeast people, said a statement issued by president of BJP Tamenglong Mandal.
Curfew relaxation
The district magistrates of the Imphal East and the Imphal West have issued orders relaxing the curfew from 5 am till 8 pm on Saturday.
However the prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC shall be in force.
Under its provisions assembly of five or more persons and carrying of items which can be used as offence weapons are not permitted.
20 autos damaged
Around twenty autos were damaged on Friday during the 14-hour cease work strike called by transporter bodies in support of ILP in Manipur.
Police detained twelve persons suspected of carrying out the damage.
The transporter associations to demand implementation of inner line permit system to safeguard the indigenous people of the State.
