Raksha Bandhan celebrated

On the auspicious occasion
of Rakshabandhan, all ranks of Assam Rifles under the aegis of
Hqs IGAR (South) celebrated Raksha Bandhan with traditional
gaiety and fervor at various places in the State.
The festival was attended by the prominent ladies of the
society, nearby villages and BJP Mahila Morcha, said a state-
ment issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S).
During the event it was
appealed to the womenfolk of the society to continue with their
good work in maintaining peace and harmony in the society
and also conveyed that the role of women in the society is of
the utmost importance to maintain the progress of the state.
Sumatibala, President of BJP Mahila Morcha Sangtha,
Imphal (Manipur) along with 13 members of Sangthan visited
troops of Assam Rifles at Chandel, Tengnoupal and Thoubal
on Aug 17 and 18 and tied rakhi to all ranks present on the
occasion.
It was indeed a gesture of harmony and a symbol of
cohesive bond shared by the Assam Rifles with local populace.
