Imphal, August 10 2011:
Liang-mai Naga Katimai Ruangdi (LNKR) has urged the Government to include Addi- tional English as an option-al language in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
Addressing a press conference in this connection at Manipur Press Club here today, Ch Padikhonbou, of representative of LNKR, Imphal unit, pointed out that only 10 tribal languages namely Tangkhul, Hmar, Mizo, Mao, Kom, Vaiphei, Paite, Rongmei, Zou and Thadou Kuki have been recognised as optional langu- ages in the proposed TET although there are 33 recognised tribal languages in the State.
So, taking into consideration of the remaining 23 tribes, the Govt should include Additional English as an optional language.
