Relics in Myanmar

A number of relics which originated from Manipur have been discovered in Saigaing Division of Myanmar by a team of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Manipur Chapter.
INTACH Manipur Chapter convenor Dr RK Ranjan and historian Prof N Joykumar went to Saigaing Division last month at the invitation of Myanmar Border Trade General Secretary UA Ko and they discovered the relics.
The relics were discovered after excavating some areas to the eastern side of Chindwin River.
Prof N Joykumar opined that the relics might from the periods of kings Shyamsai Khurailakpa, Marjit and Chourajit.
It is said that INTACH has initiated due process to bring back the relics to Manipur with due consent of the Myanmar Government through the Government of India.
