JAC suspends stir

Imphal, June 28 2017:
The JAC against the killing of Khundrakpam Bimola Devi whose dead body was found in Thoubal river yesterday has temporarily suspended its decision to impose indefinite bandh on Imphal-Ukhrul road from today midnight following the arrest of a suspect by police .
Announcing this in a press release, the JAC informed that a public meeting will be held at Itam Nungoi community hall tomorrow to adopt resolutions against the killing .
The meeting will be attended by representatives of civil society organisations including UCM, AMUCO and COHR, it said.
The JAC appealed to the people not to spread rumours that could ignite communal flare up.
