COTA demands extension of retirement age

Imphal, September 06, 2013:
Urging the state government to extend the retirement age of elementary to higher secondary school teachers till 62 years, Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) submitted memorandums to the Chief Minister and the Education Ministers on 29th August.
Issuing a statement in this regard, COTA noted that New Delhi Government extended the retirement age of its employers till 62 years since 2011 and the superannuation of college teachers of the state of Manipur upto 65 years from the current year.
So, the retirement age of teachers working from elementary to higher education level should also be extended.
