Imphal, September 06 2014 :
Accusing Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam of being irresponsible, NPF President Awangbou Newmai has questioned how the post of Deputy Chief Minister was given to such a person.
Giving away the faith of Manipur in the hands of such an 'irresponsible' person is State Govt's one-sided policy, alleged Awangbou Newmai.
The allegation was made during a press conference held at NPF office in Deulahland.
Speaking further Newmai alleged that the Deputy CM of Manipur is irresponsible.
He said, "Being an irresponsible person, instead of soothing and comforting the public, he has been doing things which have made the public rather more uneasy.
I doubt that giving such an important responsibility to a person who doesn't know how to protect his people would lead to many untoward surprises to the common people of Manipur" .
In order to make the people of Ukhrul feel more secured and protected, the GoM must put through certain steps to settle the burning issues in Ukhrul instead of making them more furious by taking up unfavourable decisions, he added.
Deployment of additional security forces and imposition of CrPC 144 in Ukhrul were based on a fake situation framed by the GoM.
Moreover, security forces ruined the peace of Ukhrul by killing two people during a peace rally.
Even after the people of Ukhrul have gone through so much hardships, the Minister from GoM has visited Ukhrul and its people to see and fathom the prevailing condition.
It clearly proves that the GoM is not for the people, he lamented.
He asserted that the CM rushed to Delhi to seek help from the Central Government implies his incapability in administering the State.
It is really irresponsible of him to run to Delhi for help before he had not even visited Ukhrul to see the condition in the troubled area.
Concluding his statement, Newmai urged the Central Government to look into the present situation of Ukhrul in persons.
