One more JE case confirmed

It has been confirmed that the 14 year old boy from Khundrak-pam who has been undergoing treatment in the ICU of Shija Hospitals has been infected by Japanese Encephalitis.
Staff of State Health Department collected and tested the blood sample of the boy at JNIMS yesterday and the laboratory test confirmed that the boy has been infected by Japanese Encephalitis.
So far, two cases of Japanese Encephalitis have been detected in the State this year.
This first one was reported from Irom Meijrao.
Meanwhile, extensive awareness cum mosquito-net medication programmes were held today at three locations of Irom Meijrao under the joint aegis of District Malaria Officer, Imphal West, local clubs and MO-in-charge, PHC Mekola.
More than 500 mosquito-nets were medicated during the programme, conveyed a press release issued by Social Youth Club, Irom Meijrao Mamang Makha Leikai.
