Kharsa / Hog deer fawn handed over to zoo

Imphal, December 20 2017:
Keibul Lamjao National Park RO Range II, along with the park's Unique Wildlife Protection Committee, handed over a young Hog Deer (Kharsa) fawn which was rescued by one Asem Inaobi of Mayang Imphal Thana Anilongbi, to Manipur Zoological garden today .
Secretary of Unique Wildlife Protection Committee, Elangbam Budha, has urged the people not to disturb or cause any harm to the Hog deers as it is currently their mating season .
He also pointed out that last year, the population count of the hog deers was at 16 .
