PLA attacks AR, none hurt

Imphal, October 14, 2013:
Unidentified armed persons exploded a bomb to attack troopers of 41 Assam Rifles at Nungsangkhong, 18 kms from Ukhrul town towards Imphal.
The incident occurred at around at around 3 pm while the AR team posted at Somsai in Ukhrul district was carrying out ROP duty.
There is no report of any casualty in the incident.
Meanwhile, People Liberation Army (PLA), the armed wing of the proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has claimed responsibility for the bomb attack.
In a press note issued to the media this evening, Bangkim, the Chief of Department of Publicity of RPF said that the attack was carried out by the PLA's Special Warfare Group, which is all the time prepared for launching such attacks on Indian security forces at any time and place.
