Rescheduled
ZEO Imphal West Zone-I has informed that the State level examination for competitive scholarship 2014-15 for Classes V and VIII for Imphal West district which was earlier scheduled to be held at Johnstone Higher Secondary School has been rescheduled on November 15 from 10.30 am to 2 pm at Ramlal Paul Higher Secondary, Imphal.
MPCC greets
The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president and Dy CM Gaikhangam has extended warm greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of Ningol Chakkouba, which falls on Nov 13 .
In a greeting message, the MPCC president wished that Ningol Chakkouba celebration brings in an atmosphere of peaceful coexistence among all communities, development and peace in the State.
SLUCO B'day
Singjamei to Lilong United Club Organisation, Canchipur (SLUCO) celebrated its 9th foundation day at its office premises at Canchipur yesterday.
AMUCO president Dr Y Mani, SLUCO president S Rameshwar graced the celebration.
SLUCO advisor W Gonendro, former AMUCO president KT Rahman and NRC, Canchipur president H Sanajaoba also attended the celebration.

In connection with the ensuing by-election to Thangmeiband AC, a complaint monitoring control room and call centre has been opened in the office complex of DEO/DC, Imphal West at Room No F-09 (ground floor) with phone number 2415845, informed a statement.
Turtle rescued
A team of personnel of Kwakeithel police outpost rescued a South East Asian soft shell turtle from a drain yesterday morning.
The turtle has been handed over to the People for Animals, Manipur.
Executives appointed
Kabui Dharma Sabha, Manipur president Lungpungj ei Kabui has appointed Kakhanlunglu Kabui and Joy Kabui as the joint secrptary and treasurer of the Sabha respectively.
Award distribution
Award presentation of North East Biography Forum was held today at Manipur Press Club.
Lok Sabha MP (Inner Manipur), Dr Th Meinya attended the programme as the chief guest.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Th Meinya lauded the efforts and contributions of the Forum.
Training programme held
NSS Unit-I of SK Women's College organised a seven-day special training programme under the theme, 'health, sanitation and personal hygiene' from November 2 to 8 .
Around 100 volunteers took part in the training programme, said a press release.
