AR scans imported goods at Moreh

Imphal, January 22 2014 :
In a move to check cross-border arms and drugs smuggling, personnel of 9-Assam Rifles posted at Moreh Gate No.2 have begun to scan all goods brought in to Moreh town from Myanmar using metal detectors.

According to a reliable source, large x-ray scanners are to be installed at Moreh Checkpoint, but the Assam Rifles personnel are using the metal detectors as a temporary arrangement.
The x-ray scanners are yet to be arrived at Moreh.
The Indian authorities strongly suspect rampant arms and drugs smuggling along the Indo-Myanmar border in the State.
