Imphal, April 12 2016:
Different civil society organisations and locals
of the Napet Palli have decided to press the Government to shift the
temporary designated camp of URF (Chingkheingaba group) from
the locality within three days.
This was stated by JAC Demanding for the Shifting of
URF Chingkheinganba Group from Napet Palli co-convenor
Sharad Khumbongmayum at a press conference held at
Manipur Press Club today.
He claimed that the statement made by URF
(Chingkheinganba group) regarding April 9 incident was
baseless.
Sharad said that URF (Chingkheinganba group)
cadres thrashed and injured four persons of Napet Palli that
day.
On the other hand, Napet Palli locals never beat
Chingkheinganba, the president of the outfit, he said.
Even as Napet locals were trying to resolve the matter,
URF (Chingkheinganba group) cadres suddenly opened fire
igniting the mob attack, Sharad said.
A public meeting taken part by the representatives of dif-
ferent civil society organisations was held regarding the
incident yesterday.
The meeting resolved to press the Government to shift the
designated camp within three days from the locality, he said.
The meeting also decided to urge the Government not keep
the camp within Lamlai AC.
