Imphal, December 09 2009:
Around 70 good laden trucks which were stranded at Mao Gate following the economic blockade imposed along the National Highway 39 have been bought safely to Imphal under security escorts today.
The goods laden trucks including 14 oil tankers have been stranded at Mao Gate since Tuesday.
Senapati District Students' Association has imposed the economic blockade since midnight of December 5 in pursuance of various demands like improvement of the road, setting up fire stations at Tadubi and Maram and opening of a SBI branch at Tadubi.
