UCM condoles

United Committee Manipur (UCM) has condoled the untimely demise of Sorokhaibam Sobita, who was seriously injured in the June 18 people's uprising, which occurred in 2001 .
It may be mentioned that one of her limbs was amputated after she was hit by a bullet on her leg during the mass movement.
UCM members observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul during a condolence meeting held at their office today.
In a statement, UCM said that a social body known as Khwai Ningshel Sintha Lup has been providing accommodation to Sobita in a special room at Kangleicha English School, Yairipok Bamon Leikai since November 7, 2014 .
Sobita's last rites were performed at Yairipok dam near Yairipok police station in the presence of representatives of Khwai Ningshel Sintha Lup, UCM and Kangleicha English School, the statement added.
