Imphal, November 25 2014:
The Manipur Students' Federation had expressed a strong condemnation against the recent attacks of North Eastern students in the capital and other cities of India alleging the lack of justified legal actions against these cases by the Govt of India.
The advisor of the federation, Th Udoi talking to media persons at the office of the association stated that the time has come where our students should be allowed to carry protective arms for self protection by making a special provision in the constitution of India.
He also observed that despite the installation of Mechanical Cells in Delhi to check these crimes, students from the north-easterners have been repeatedly tortured, raped and killed in the city.
In this regard, the federation had today demanded a strong initiation from the government in the form of a law to safeguard and protect the students and people hailing from the north east, added the report.
