Imphal, July 31 2015 :
CPI Manipur State Council staged a sit-in-protest demanding implementation of ILPS at Keishampat Lairembi community hall today.
Speaking at the protest, CPI Manipur State Council secretary Dr M Nara said that a collective effort cutting across party lines is needed to resolve the ILPS issue.
Saying that the situation is so volatile now, Dr Nara said that the State Government must try to regain the lost confidence of the people by passing a Bill which can effectively safeguard the indigenous people of the State within a month.
Urging the drafting committee members not to tender resignation at this critical juncture, Dr Nara said that such moves would further aggravate the situation.
He also urged the drafting committee members to resolve the differences within the committee instead of making it public.
Dr Nara also urged the Government to open educational institutes of Imphal at the earliest.
