Painting competition held

As a part of Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight, Bhairodan Maxwell Hindi Primary School in collaboration with District Health Society , Imphal under the National Rural Health Mission today conducted a spot painting competition with Dr S Bimolakumari, CMO Imphal West; Dr U Jugindro, MO; Dr L Somorendro, MO; KH Sunita, Headmistress, Bhairodan Maxwell Hindi Primary School attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Dr S Bimolakumari stated that the awareness campaign was initiated in order to eradicate diarrhoea death in children who are below 5 years of age.
Dr Bimolakumari advised that ORS should be given to children during the early stage of diarrhoea.
However, if the sickness worsen, zinc tablet must be given to a child.
She added that ORS and zinc tablet are available free of cost in 2 Urban Health Centres; 2 Central Health Centres; 8 Public Health Centres 8; 50 Public Health Sub-Centres.
Above all, to take care of the child's health and prevent it from all kinds of illnesses and diseases is the best remedy, CMO Bimolakumari asserted.
