Nutrition Week
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hengbung observed the Nutrition Week 2015 under the theme "Better Nutrition: Keys to Development" at its campus today.
The inaugural function was graced by Dr N Jyotsna, Programme Director, KVK, KS Minlen, secretary, FEEDS, Manipur, Dr RK Latasana, Lecturer, GP Women's College and Dr Ksh Bimolata, Lecturer, Ideal Girls' Collage.
The programme was participated by 50 women.
Van association urges
Thoubal District School Van Association has urged the State Government to make immediate arrangement of providing fuel to the chool transporters.
Due to scarcity of fuel, many school van services have been disrupted.
In a statement, the association added that the Thoubal DC has already been apprised of the issue.
Awareness programme held
24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) organised a nature awareness programme at Khudenthabi village today.
Locals were explained about the various projects being undertaken by the Assam Rifles under 'Go Green Drive' in simple terms, said an AR press release.
Spiritual festival held
Nungourok Baptist Church, (UNBI) on Monday, held the first ever one-day open air spiritual festival at Nungourok village playground, Chandel.
T Ramananda, DCI Servant of God, attended as speaker of the one-day festival.
Performances by popular comedian of the State, Joseph and Rangilal were the main highlights of the event.
Members of all the 19 Churches under Nungourok Baptist Church attended the festival.
AMUCO drive
As done in the previous years, All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) today planted about 200 tree saplings on Mangra hill.
The tree plantation drive was led by K Helen, vice-president, and in-charge Tree Plantation committee, AMUCO and finance secretary N Syamsundar.
The tree plantation drive was AMUCO's contribution towards solving global warming, said a statement.

BJP Yuva Morcha secretary Konsam Joy Singh along with other party members planted 400 saplings at Laloi hill.
The saplings planted today were provided by the District Forest Officer, Bishnupur, a statement issued by Konsam Joy informed.
Dealers urge
Expressing concern over the exhorbitant prices of essential commodities in the State, the All Manipur Indian Oil Dealers' Association has urged the State Government to inititiate steps to repair the National High-ways.
The association also urged the State Govt to check selling of fuel at exhorbitant prices in the black market.
