Imphal, May 25 2016:
Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) has
reiterated its demand that the recruitment of primary, upper primary
and graduate teachers be done through written exam rather than on
mark basis (academic performance).
KSA, in a statement, took strong exception to the alleged
indifferent attitude of the Education Minister towards this end
despite the students' body launching several forms of agitation.
KSA said that recruitment of teachers on mark basis is not
mentioned in NCTE norms.
It also reiterated that there is wide disparity in marking
system of different State boards.
While some boards including
CBSE are liberal in awarding marks, there is uneven marking
across boards.
Unfair means are even rampant in some exam centres under
BOSEM resulting in variation of grades or marks among the
same batch of students, it said.
As such, it would not be practicable to conduct recruitment
on mark basis, KSA said.
KSA said it is ready to face any attempt to conduct recruitment of teachers by the State Govt on mark basis.
