Imphal, October 23 2015 :
Manipur Drivers ' Welfare Association has urged the State Government to complete revamping works of NH-102 (Imphal-Moreh road) and restore movement of heavy vehicles on the highway at the earliest.
In a statement, the association said that the Government had imposed restrictions on movement of heavy vehicles after the highway witnessed massive landslides at several places some months back.
On October 20, around 19 trucks headed towards Moreh after receiving information about the restoration of normal movement of heavy vehicles on the highway.
However, they were stopped by Assam Rifles at Khudengthabi.
The statement said that the AR troops allegedly told the truck drivers that the restriction was imposed by the State Public Works Department.
