Training programme held

Awang Sekmai Koubru Women and Child Development Society conducted a one-day training programme on 'Scientific pig rearing', at Awang Sekmai Khunou Leikai community hall today.
The one-day training was held under the aegis of India Co-ordinate Research Project on Pig Development of Animal Sciences, College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University, Imphal.
Speaking at the occasion, PI and Head, Department of Animal Sciences, CAU, Professor M Dhaneswar Singh detailed the scientific ways of rearing pig.
Dhaneswar said good breeds double the rearing profit than normal/ordinary breed.
Pig rearing is not an easy occupation, Dhaneswar said.
A rearer must keep in mind the required maintenance and market before stepping into the occupation.
Sekmai Nagar Panchayat chairperson Khwairakpam Kullamani Devi and Kh Chando Singh graced today's one-day training event.
Associate Professor Dr Th Ranadhir, Project assistant Dr Ajesh and Professor M Dhaneswar attended as resource persons.
