Consultation prog held

New Era Environment Development and Society (NEEDS), with the assistance of Child Rights and You (CRY), conducted a consultation programme on “Child Trafficking and Child Sexual Assault” at Tengnoupal police station today .
Speaking as resource persons, Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights member K Pradipkumar stressed on Child trafficking scenario in Manipur, roles and responsibilities of police-causes-trafficker-destinations .
SP, Tengnoupal Dr S Ibomcha spoke on Gaps and challenges faced by police department in implementing child rights laws .
With the rise of child trafficking in South Asian countries, NEEDS Chandel district coordinator, Darngam Khaling urged all the police personnel, especially those posted along Imphal-Moreh road, to be extra cautious regarding the issue of child trafficking since there is a greater possibility of children or victims being taken along the said road .
SDPO, Moreh Lawrence Kapkhemang Mamunluo, OC, Tengnoupal police station Sk John Lamkang, NEEDS secretary Angshem Tontang and other police personnel attended the programme.
