Senapati, December 01 2018:
A two days seminar cum get together of Poumai Naga Village Chief Association (PNVCA) was held at Taphou Onaeme, Senapati on November 28 and 29 .
The programme was attended by the chiefs and villagers of Poumai Naga tribes while PS Vaison Vemai, steering executive member of NSCN-IM attended as resource person.
Ex MLA Dr V Alexander Pao, who is also an advisor to the association spoke during the inaugural function.
Kh Panii, Village King; Ngaile, Chief of Purul Akutpa and Kh Ziirai, Chief of Laii village delivered speeches about customary lunar calendar and its rituals while Soloni Pao, president, Poumai Naga Union and Lawrence S Khah, advisor, PNVCA spoke on the second day.
Resource person of the seminar, Vaison Vemai spoke about the genesis of kingship in a village and narrated tales of big wild animals, rites and rituals of a king queen.
Folk songs and tales of Poumai Naga tribes were also presented during the programme.
PNVCA was established in the year 2010 with the motto, "Truth, Justice and Identity" .
