NPO urges
Expressing strong disapproval of awarding PMGSY works below scheduled rate, the District Grievance Cell of Naga People Organisation (NPO) has asked the RD and PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa to discourage such abnormal bidding during PMGSY e-tendering.
MOBC clarifies
Directorate of Minorities and Other Backward Classes (MOBC) has dismissed a report about the selling of MOBC scholarship application forms at Rs 300 or more per form to students.
MOBC clarified that there are no agents or individual authorised by the MOBC Dept for selling scholarship forms and applications are being applied through online only.
Eligible students can apply through www.scholarships.gov.in, it added.
Shikshak Shri Award
Dhaneshwar Longjam, principal of Kindergarten Montessori School has been selected for Shikshak Shri Award by Antarrashtriya Samrasta Manch.
He will receive the award on Sept 5 on the occasion of Teachers' Day at IIIL, Bhagwan Das Road, New Delhi.
Medical camp held
Dioceses Social Service Society, Mantripukhri in association with Caritas India and Manipur Flood Response organised a free health camp at Chadong village today.
The camp was organised with an aim to provide free medical assistance to the villagers affected by Mapithel dam.
Jawan hurt
One personnel of 4 Assam Regiment was hit and injured by a bullet fired accidentally from his own weapon at Molcham village near Indo- Myanmar border in Chandel district at around 3.30 am today.
A team of 4 Assam Regiment, D-Coy posted at Molcham was going to a wooded area to lay an ambush when one personnel opened fire accidentally.
He was hit by a bullet on the left leg.
The injured personnel identified as Rainhlua Jackal has been brought to Leimakhong military hospital.
