The Indian Medical Association (IMA) under its Rise and Shine campaign organised a continued medical
education (CME) program in Imphal on August 23 to discuss the
growing epidemic of Vitamin D deficiency amongst the Indian
population.
The CME was attended by over 50 leading doctors of
the city.
Salam Ranabir Singh, Assistant Professor of General
Medicine, RIMS, SS Agarwal, National president IMA, KK
Aggarwal, honorary secretary IMA, Ambrish Mithal, chairman,
Metabolic Disorder & Endocrinology, Medanta-the Medicity and
Sachindra Laishram, honorary secretary IMA Manipur branch
addressed the program on various issues of causes, effects and cure
for Vitamin D deficiency.
The IMA Rise and Shine campaign in addition to conduct-
ing CME's and soft skill training workshops across 128 cities
also comprises of a national daily SMS campaign for doctors'
awareness through an active Facebook page, regular state and
national body meetings and public sensitizing events.
