Training held
A training programme on 'paddy cum pisciculture' was held on Aug 24 and 25 at Chakama village, Kasom Khullen block under NMEAT 2015 .
According to a statement, Chithung Kingson, resource person of the programme, interacted with the farmers and shared expertise on generating more income through paddy cultivation and fish rearing.
He also demonstrated the use of some techniques on fish farming and paddy cultivation.
Medical camp
All Zeliangrong Medicos' Union will organise a free medical camp at Longsai village, Tamenglong district on Sept 5 and 6 .
MALSO condoles
Muslim Advocates' Legal Services Organisation (MALSO) has condoled the sudden demise of Advocate Ashlam Khan who passed away yesterday due to cardiac arrest.
Members of MALSO, in an emergency meeting held yesterday shared the sorrow of the bereaved family.
MALSO also remembered the deceased Advocate as a fine gentleman and showed enthusiasm in social work.
His death will create an irreparable vacuum in the society particularly among the Muslim community.
Support to orphanage
Continuing with its effort to help the underprivileged, 11 Assam Rifles of HQ 26 Sect Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) distributed essential food items to the Orphanage run by MMCM (Manipuri Muslim Council of Moreh) on Aug 25, PRO of IGAR (S) informed.
Barn owl rescued
A rescued barn owl has been handed over to Unique Wildlife Protection Committee, Manipur today.
The bird was handed over by one Arnold Nongthombam of Langjing Pungjao, manager of Jila Brick Field after he took possession of the bird from some children on Aug 23.The bird will be released at appropriate place after giving full treatment, a statement said.
TUC meeting today
Thangmeiband United Club (TUC) will organise a public meeting to discuss future course of agitation regarding demand for ILPS implementation at THAU ground at 3 pm on August 27 .
In this regard, the club has urged the people of Thangmeiband to close all shops and offices and suspend all forms of activities from 1 pm till the meeting concludes.
