PMAY launch put off

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Grameen (PMAY-G) which was scheduled to launch in the State on June 25 has been put off indefinitely .
Beneficiaries of the scheme would be selected based on the report of Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) 2011 .
No separate form would be issued for the scheme and there would be no room for recommendation by elected members such as Pradhans, Members, Zilla Parishad Members, MLAs and Ministers .
Reports of SECC 2011 for the State of Manipur have been already published and the same have been uploaded in the website of the Ministry of Rural Development .
Even though names of expired beneficiaries can be deleted, there is no room for additions or modifications .
Under PMAY-G, a sum of Rs 1,30,000 would be given for construction of house for each beneficiary in hill districts.
The amount is lesser by Rs 10,000 in the valley districts.
This amount would be released in three instalments through bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
