Imphal, July 12 2021:
Rath Yatra, which is one of the most important festivals of Hindus, was celebrated on Monday in a low key manner by performing only rituals without the traditional pulling of the chariot due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Caretaker of Shri Shri Govindaji Temple located at Konung Mamang performed rituals and offered seasonal fruits and vegetables to the gods.
Speaking in this regard, M Barish Sharma informed that the pulling of chariot which is conducted every year on Rath Yatra was not done this year because of Covid-19 pandemic.
However, rituals like Radha Pooja were conducted with strict adherence to SOP guidelines.
