Hindi Diwas fortnight

Under the aegis of the Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal the District Library Cum Youth Centre, Athokpam Thoubal organized a Hindi Diwas Fortnight Programme on September 27 which saw 90 youths in attendance at DLCYC, Athokpam Hall.
Asst ProfL Romendro Singh and M Ranjit Singh were the chief guest and president respectively.
The programme was organized as part of the observance of Hindi Diwas Fortnight of Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal starting from Sep 14 and will go on till 28 .
Ak Jiten, former National Youth Volunteer of NYK Thoubal highlighted the importance of knowing Hindi, due to its status of being the official language and its potential to bring "unity and integrity" among the people.
A Hindi writing competition was also held at the spot in which 25 youths took part.
Kumari Leimapokpam Ruparani Chanu got first place, Okram Deepashwori Devi came second and Yaiphaba Waikhom bagged the third spot.
Prizes and certificates were distributed to the rank holders by the VIPs.
