Free care camp organised at Keirao

Imphal, June 19 2011:
Over 500 locals were examined and provided preliminary treatment in a day-long free eye camp conducted today at Keirao Panthoibi community hall.
The camp conducted by an eight member opthalmic team under the supervision of Dr H Ramananda was jointly organised by social worker N Itomba Meetei in collaboration with volunteers of Lanchenba Vision, Keirao Bitra Loumee Lup, The Irilbung Library Union, VDCC and LMYC.
Dr Ramananda, an eye specialist, informed the local populace that with the availability of modern medical facility in the State cataract operation could be carried out with minimal expenditure.
As a part of the camp, N Itomba handed over medicines for curing stomach problems, loose motion of infants as well as cotton and insecticide to those who attended the camp.
The social worker also conveyed gratitude to Department of Family Welfare authorities for providing personnel and material assistance.
