Referring to the news report published in local media about the arrest of Moirangthem Kalachand alias Biren s/o late Ibotombi of Wangjing Tentha Khunjao but staying at Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi and Khumukcham Bi-shorwjit alias Nanao s/o late Budhichandra by Imphal West Police from Moirangkhom area, the outfit UPPK has denied any connection whatsoever between the party and duo.
A press release issued by the outfit's information and publicity secretary in-charge Khuman Laishramcha further claimed that the five Chinese hand grenades and the detonators seized from them have nothing to do with the party.
While maintaining that UPPK has not done anything unlawful since it signed an MoU with the Government on May 24 this year, it asked all its cadres who have failed to report back even after the end of their leave period to report at their designated camp by December 31 .
In case they fail to report by December 31, the party would snap all connections with the defaulters, it added.
