Imphal, June 13 2012:
Though the Plan size of Rs 3500 crore for the current fiscal is a healthy increase from the last fiscal, no appreciable increase in the sectoral allocation of funds for different departments could be realised as the liabilities incurred for the major projects taken up in the State have run into huge sums.
The Cabinet which met today, accordingly decided to reserve major portions of the Plan size for meeting the liabilities of the major projects, said a source.
As there was an excess intake of 24 personnel in the recruitment drive for Constable in the Home Department, the Cabinet has also decided to accommodate the 24 excess recruits after downgrading some vacant posts of Havildar.
