Poacher fined Rs 25,000

Imphal, September 11 2017:
After a picture of a man shooting a Little Egret (Urok) was found uploaded in Facebook, the poacher was pulled up and fined Rs 25,000 .
A team of forest officials led by Range Officer K Momba pulled up the poacher from Keikhu village, Imphal East this morning .
The man has been identified as one Md Ajmal Shah and one double-barrel gun was also recovered from his possession .
Little Egret (Urok) is listed in Schedule IV of endangered wild animals and Md Ajmal Shah confessed that he shot dead the bird .
Md Ajmal was freed after he paid a fine of Rs 25,000 to the Central Forest Division, Divisional Forest Officer.
