Imphal, September 07 2015:
The Naga People's Front (NPF), Chandel unit has appreciated the four NPF MLAs for tendering their resignations from the Manipur Legislative Assembly in the larger interest of the tribal people of Manipur.
In a statement, Ng Aimson, general secretary (Adm), NPF, Chandel divisional unit said the resignation of the four NPF MLAs is a serious and severe protest against the 'consistent,' 'cruel' and 'unpardonable' anti-tribal and anti-Naga attitude, approach and actions of CM O Ibobi's Govt as evident from recent legislative measures such as PMP Bill, MLR&LR (7th amendment) Bill and MS&E (2nd amendment) Bill and the resolution on the Indo-Naga peace accord.
The NPF Chandel unit has also urged all tribal MLAs to decide where they stand in regard to the tribal interest so as to uphold oneness.
It said that this is the right time for the tribals to come forward together to protect their land, culture, identity, etc.
The party also shared the pain and sorrow of the bereaved families of the tribal martyrs.
