CCpur, November 06 2015 :
The 12-hour long total bandh imposed by YPA at Churachandpur to demand that those responsible for killing Thangliansiam in the first week of last month be booked passed off peacefully today.
The police have apprehended a woman suspect in connection with the case but the association is demanding that more should be done and the real culprit booked.
A rally was planned during the total shutdown but the district authorities persuaded the organisers to cancel the rally and offered to receive their memo from their meeting venue as there were apprehensions that a rally could spark more trouble in the already volatile town.
Addressing the gathering at Lamka public ground, the SP Churachandpur L Mangkhogin said they have so far arrested two suspects in the case and pledged to dig deeper and book those responsible.
