Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak condoles

A condolence meeting was held to condole the demise of eminent women leader, Phanjoubam Sakhi Leima fondly known as Ima Sakhi who was also the president of Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) for a
long time.
The condolence meeting was organised by the Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) and the members of its component bodies namely United All Communities Social Uplifters (UNACSU), All Manipur Youth Protection Committee (AMYPC), Human Rights Defenders Manipur (HRDM), Users Connection Supportive Committee Kangleipak (UCSCK), Kangleipak Women Welfare Association (KWWA), Women Welfare Association Kangleipak (WWOK), Ching Tam United Women Welfare Association (CHITUWA) observed three minutes silence as a mark of honour to the departed soul and prayed that the her soul may rest in peace, said a press release by CCSK.
The attendees recalled the countless contributions of Ima Sakhi who spearheaded many major issues of the State.
Her selfless efforts in women related issues, struggle against the AFSPA 1958 and rampant use of illicit substances in the State were lauded.
The attendees also recounted the sincere contributions of Ima Sakhi to strengthen the bond of love and harmony among the people of the hills and the valley.
CCSK and its component bodies further maintained that her demise is a huge loss for the State and will leave an irreparable void.
